March 31 - April 02, 2023
Linnebur Property, Byers

There will be a camp for all Scouts age 14 on down from the evening of the 31st of March into Palm Sunday, the 2nd of April. Please let us know if you are able to make it. We will be leaving the Church around 5:30 or 6:00 PM. Since this is a camp away from the Church, please make sure you have the following:
1. BERET
2. Backpack
- Preferably a solid-framed bag or a tall backpack for easier carrying
- Be sure this backpack can fit everything you need to bring
- You should not have to carry anything - We do not want you carrying anything, especially because of all the long hiking
- Remember, overpacking, is packing done wrong
3. Canteen and water
- Everyone needs a sturdy canteen for all camps
- You should be able to throw your canteen such that it will not break or be dented – Army Surplus stores offer some good canteens for good prices
- You must bring at least 1 gallon of water for each day of camp – Do not bring big jugs of water, but a bunch of water bottles so they can be stored more easily in your backpack
4. Enough food for 3 meals and a snack every day
5. Bread Bag
- Need to have this to carry your food
6. Fork/Knife/Spoon
7. Sleeping Bag
- This must be a real sleeping bag that is at least rated for 20 degrees, preferably lower
- Blanket – Preferably wool or fleece – Not a large blanket
8. Bedroll/Mat
- Can be a thin mat, something that will not be destroyed or pop on the ground, especially depending on the surfaces we might lay on
9. Tarp big enough to cover your sleeping bag and scout backpack when folded in half
- This tarp needs to strong enough not to tear
- Some brands and types of tarps are not durable – and this can be a problem for any camp if it tears
- You will have to look into strong tarps, usually blue, but good quality
10. Stakes for tarp
- These need to be sturdy stakes
- Essential for keeping tarp on the ground
11. Flashlight or headlight
- Headlight is preferred as it will enable you to keep both of your hands free
12. 3 extra pairs of socks
- Feel free to also bring a pair of wool socks
13. 2 extra shirts
14. 1 extra pair of pants
- These should be sturdy cargo pants, carpenter pants, jeans, etc. . . Not sweatpants
15. 1 sweatshirt and 1 heavier coat
16. Sturdy Boots
- Tennis Shoes are not acceptable
17. A winter hat
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
