St. Isidore Church and Priory

Minor Orders and Perpetual Engagements 2024

Each year, the seminary makes a visit to one of the priories of the SSPX on that liturgical Sunday. This is the first time for them to come to Denver. This is definitely a once-in-a-generation event for our parish.

The rector, Fr. Michael Goldade, will be here and will preach at both Masses. He will be accompanied by Fr. Haynos, who will be getting to know this place well after his visit for the parish mission. They will be joined by around 50 seminarians, who will both serve and sing the Solemn High Mass at 9 am. After the Mass, there will be a half-hour presentation about the seminary in the basement. This will be followed by a church picnic. At 2:30 pm, the seminarians will give us a little concert. Everything will then wrap up with Solemn Vespers and Benediction at 3 pm.

In short, the schedule for the day will be as follows:

  • 7:00 am -- Low Mass celebrated by Fr. Haynos, sermon by Fr. Goldade
  • 9:00 am -- Solemn High Mass celebrated by Fr. Goldade
  • After 9:00 am Mass -- short video about seminary life, followed by a short presentation, in the church basement
  • 11:30 am to 2:30 pm: Picnic outdoors (pray for good weather!)
  • 2:30 pm -- short concert given by the seminarians
  • 3:00 pm: Vespers followed by Benediction
  • 4:00 pm: end of event

On Monday, the seminarians will visit our school. They will eat breakfast with the students and then split up and visit the classrooms. At 9:30 am, they will be taken to the airport where they will all be getting on a Southwest flight to Richmond, Virginia.
