2024 Ordinations at the Seminary of La Reja, Argentina

On December 21, 2024, the ceremony of Ordinations to the Diaconate and Priesthood took place.

At 9:30, with Monsignor de Galarreta as the officiant, the beautiful ceremony with which our academic year ends every year began.

On this occasion, three deacons were ordained as priests: James Chipperfield (Australia), Sebastian Hovens (Australia) and Joaquin Menez (Argentina); and the diaconate was ordained by two Argentine candidates who had received the subdiaconate from the hands of Monsignor Fellay in October.

Several major superiors were present at the ceremony, in the person of the superiors of South America, Brazil, Central America and Australia. Forty-one priests laid hands on those ordained after the Bishop, among whom we must highlight some priests from Australia and the United States on this occasion of the ordination of two of their former students from the Gulburn seminary.

The ceremony was well attended, particularly by the families of the two new priests, including their parents and several of their siblings who made the trip from Australia to attend the ordination Mass.

After Mass, the new priest blessed the faithful in the Church.

Let us continue to pray to Our Lord for the increase of priestly vocations, because it is enough to listen to the Superiors speak a little about their respective Districts to realize the great need they have for new workers for the sanctification of souls.
